Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest
The new 15,000sf Supervisor’s Office Building for the Nez Perce – Clearwater National Forest was designed to fit in the small remote community of Kamiah, Idaho, and the terrain of the site. This new facility brings many staff dispersed throughout the region under one roof for better collaboration and service. The minimized footprint anchors the building levels into the site. The building is two stories but descends into the lower site creating unique opportunities for the building’s form and functions between private and public uses. Throughout the building a story of wood innovations and integration of wood as structure and a building finish is expressed through the work areas. Cross Laminated Timber roof structure is showcased throughout the interiors.
