The goals for ‘The Independent’ (Old IR Building) are to rejuvenate the building for mixed-use of office and retail/business type use and to create an exciting, active hub through the design of exterior and interior spaces. The residential portion of the vision will be a separate future building but master planned to work with The Independent and create a fun and usable courtyard in the space between. Building improvements will include exterior facade renovation, window replacement, patios, site improvements and a third floor addition. The main floor is intended to house a new brewery restaurant and Coffee shop space. The second floor will house Mosaic Architecture and The sidecar a business that is geared toward new generation work space leased to individuals and start up businesses in a shared workspace type atmosphere.
